Almost everything significant I’ve done in my life has always been “the next obvious step.”
In 2017 I got into the underground music community in Bangkok.
I fell in love with the music. I was going out and meeting everyone in the scene. I got to know the DJs, promoters, event organizers, venue owners etc.
I started making my own playlists, collecting and organizing music, etc.
A year later I was at a point where I realized I was already doing 90% of what DJs do, and all I needed to learn was how to press the buttons.
I was already 90% a DJ before I realized I wanted to be a DJ.
Buying a controller to start practicing was just the next obvious step.
It didn’t feel like a “choice.”
It was just the obvious thing to do.
Right now, we are starting a new agency for course sellers, coaches and experts to help them sell more high ticket stuff.
Here’s how that happened:
Me and my biz partner were working as copywriters for a company that sells high ticket online courses and coaching programs. ($5-25k programs)
We figured out a way to send daily emails that make getting high ticket sales a lot more predictable and consistent.
As a result, the past 3 months have been the most profitable in the company’s history.
We realized that implementing this exact system could help any other company that sells high-ticket courses and coaching programs.
So now we have all the systems and processes for how to make this happen.
We have a “winning formula” for how to solve a very specific problem for a very specific type of person.
Starting an agency that helps this very specific person solve this very specific problem is simply the next obvious step.
We didn’t start with a blank piece of paper thinking “what kind of business should we build?”
This goes deeper than most think.
The crux of the idea is this:
Wherever you are now is a STEPPING STONE to where you want to be.
Most people approach life from the assumption that there is something WRONG about where they are now.
So they constantly seek to escape.
Instead, notice that… in order to get to where you want to be…
… you first have to come to terms with where you are now.
There’s only 2 things you need to ask yourself:
What do I really want? What do I want more than anything else?
How is my current situation a stepping stone to get there?
In other words…
What can you DO NOW with the resources you HAVE NOW to get to where you want to go?
Take stock. What are your
skills, talents, abilities
assets/resources
time, energy
network
I would be willing to bet…
You have skills and abilities you are not using.
You have ideas you have not executed on.
You have assets and resources you are not using.
You definitely aren’t using your time and energy to their fullest potential.
There are things you’ve tried in the past that WORKED but you didn’t do them again.
You have people you have not asked for help.
And there are people you know that you don’t know could help you.
Yet there you are…
Looking for the “new thing” that’s going to solve your problems…
Without picking up the gold in your backyard.
