First of all, can we stop using the word "woo-woo?"
I used to hold myself back from talking about things like manifestation...
... because I was afraid people would think I was too "woo-woo."
Whatever that is supposed to mean.
I was afraid people would not take me seriously if I talked about how thoughts can, and do, turn into real events and experiences.
The problem is, if you don't understand that there is a relationship between your thoughts and emotions and your external environment, you are at a severe handicap.
You don't understand a fundamental part of the nature of reality, or your role in it.
You don't know what you are made of, and what you are capable of.
Most people have experienced "synchronicities"... or "funny coincidences" that seem to defy logic.
I would even go as far as to say that most people regularly have experiences like this, at various degrees of intensity.
The ones that think they don't have experiences like this are, quite simply, not paying attention.
For me, it is one of the primary ways I navigate through life.
I can observe a direct relationship between my thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and expectations and my external environment.
And I can tell you stories for days.
I see it, live it, move with it, all day, every day.
I experience internal shifts, and my external reality reorganizes itself to match. Events unfold with stunning precision and accuracy.
But only every time.
Here's the thing:
If you agree that thoughts and emotions can have an influence on reality, then you also have to agree that this is not a selective process.
In other words, it doesn't just work sometimes.
It means that manifestation is not about "making a wish and getting it."
If means that this process, if it does work, is AT work all the time (not just some of the time).
It means that manifestation is how all things (not just some things) are made manifest.
It means that... all things originate in thought.
And before you start deeply considering the implications of that, you may want to hold on to your hat.
Further:
All things that work, work in a certain way.
So if it does work, then it means there are certain processes by which it works.
In other words, there are rules to this shit.
You can learn them, master them, and put them to work in your life.
Here is a hint:
All conscious action is a creative expression of energy, fulfilling potentials that first exist in thought.
This is the process by which the world turns.
It also has nothing to do with being good or deserving... except in the sense that an airplane has to be deserving of flight. (If it follow the rules of aerodynamics, it's deserving.)
To chalk it up to "funny coincidences" or "the Lord works in mysterious ways" or... wait for it... "woo woo" ...
… is to simply refuse to look at what is actually happening right in front of your eyes.
It is to willfully remain ignorant and unfamiliar with one of the absolute coolest fucking parts of the human experience.
And one could do oneself a great deal of service by making an honest attempt to really look.
Last night, I felt inspired to begin a new writing project to discuss what I am now calling "The Rules of Manifestation."
The goal is to demystify a subject that is traditionally very mysterious indeed, and shrouded in mystical connotations.
And to be honest, I don't see a whole lot of people talking about this stuff in plain English; presenting coherent, lucid ideas which make some kind of actual sense.
To me and many I know, there is nothing mystical about it.
And I can't imagine experiencing life without understanding this.
It would be like trying to go somewhere by crawling on the ground on all 4s with blindfolds on, not understanding I can just stand up, take off the blindfold, and call a taxi.
This post right is here is a little introduction.
I'll leave you here with a simple exercise I give to all my coaching clients:
Start paying attention to the relationship between your thoughts and feelings, and your external environment.
Were the lights all green on your way to work, and you also happened to feel really awesome that morning?
Huh. Start connecting the dots.
The only way you can really understand how the process works is by seeing how it is already at work within your own life.
Patterns will reveal themselves.
But first you have to start paying attention.
Yes! Love that you're talking about this and look forward to seeing where you take it :)
